Ever since the first season of 13 Reasons Why came out on Netflix in March 2017 we have been not-so-patiently waiting for the second season to release. It’s now been over a year and we still don’t even have a premiere date yet and we don’t know how much longer we’ll last.
It’s no secret that the show caused a massive amount of controversy when it debuted due to its topic of suicide and rape among other serious situations. While many people thought that the show brought to light the seriousness and reality of these tough topics, there are just as many who see it as glorifying suicide and as something that will encourage viewers to follow in Hannah Baker’s footsteps.
Because of the constant controversy, the creators and producers are approaching the second season with more caution and have even created a warning video to play before the episodes. These are important steps to be taken, but it means that production has slowed down and the release date for the second season has been pushed back.
Thankfully Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford opened up about the upcoming season at Netflix’s ‘See What’s Next’ event held at Villa Miani in Rome. When asked about what to expect from Clay’s character, Dylan gave us some insight on the fact that Clay hasn’t been able to move on from Hannah’s death the way he thinks he could.
Dylan said QUOTE “When this trial begins it brings him back into old memories of Hannah and brings him back to trying to find justice for her again and whether he wants to or not, he can’t really help it.” The actor went on to say QUOTE ““no matter whether he believes he has moved on, he quickly realizes that he hasn’t.”
Ugh knowing this info makes us want the second season even more!
Are you surprised to hear that Clay is still focused on Hannah or did you see that coming? Let us know in the comments below and then click here to see what happened at the third day of Coachella! I’m Ava Gordy, thanks for tuning in!
